I am very interested in the answers to this question. Of coarse, this gets to our reason for critically thinking about the iPad.
Referring to it as a gadget seems proper.
Steve has a way of surprising everyone that tries to predict what he means and what is coming next.
He seems to be doing all he can to make the iPad1 hold it's value. On eBay iPads are retaining excellent resale value, this amazes me.
The iPad1 had very few problems, especially compared to products that have come forth in new categories. Most amazing, is announcing iPad2 before competition was even close to iPad.
Steve, seems to do things in groups of three, I believe that he has a few features in mind that could not make it in iPad2. Who would be able to predict that the iPad3 will be here in one year? I, for one.
Finally, my belief is Apple will have more problems that usual with iPad2, and that the real device, that will define this category and cause the competition to tremble and lose this gadget war is the iPad3. The reason is Steve has many followers and disciples, even if he passes due to ill health, his vision will continue.
