Who is Dee Wilson?

1.  Why is he qualified to guide me through designing and setting up a web site?

Dee Wilson graduated from the University of Utah in 1969, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and a minor Electrical Engineering.

Guide Me

Personal computers became very popular in the 80′s.  Dee Wilson developed “Salary Planning and Human Resouces” software for the General Electric Corporation for 11 years not as an employee, but as a consultant.

He has consistently stayed current with programming mainframe and personal computers and knows the popular web server languages.

He now teaches how to develop web sites, and why avoiding the programming languages can lead to a better more professional site.  He believes that using the WordPress framework, with themes, plugins, that have been developed by professional programmers can be learned by anyone that uses email and google.

2.  Why is it so important for me to have a web site?

Small Part

Having a web site is not important.  Having a well thought out web site that helps you to communicate clearly who you are and what you stand for is extremely important.

You can join in conversations by commenting on other web sites.  Others may be allowed to comment on your site and join in conversation with you.

When you have something important to say, you can easily say it.  As your rhetoric and logic become clear and impelling your contribution lifts all of us up.

3.  Why did you pick this site for a case study?

Lost Control

Frank Adams a dear friend for over 60 years, had his wife call me, on November 11, 2010.  He has been the author and editor of Montana Law Week for over 25 years, and the web site was down and he had no way to recover it.

This was anticipated a couple of years ago and Frank purchased the MontanaLawWeek.com domain upon my recommendation.  We always new that his backup consisted of  copies of the WordPerfect and PDF files that that were sent to the web master that created the MontanaLawWeek.net site.

We are now negotiating to get the web pages from the previous site.  First we need to determine if they can be exported in a format that will easily allow us to import them.

You may visit Montana Law Week, without a subscription, the subscription content will not be shown.
